Muckross Park Hotel, Killarney

Hey everyone,

I have visited so many places around Ireland in recent years and I always leave reviews on Tripadvisor so I decided I will start to write blog posts about my trips from now on. I myself always read reviews/blog posts about places I want to visit and find them so helpful so I hope my posts will do the same for you.

For my Birthday a few weeks ago I stayed in Muckross Park Hotel in Killarney for a night. I love everything about Killarney and have been so many times but I will never get sick of the place. It was my first time to stay in the amazing 5 Star Muckross Park Hotel and it did not disappoint.

We left early Friday morning for the long drive to Killarney we were so lucky with the weather the sun was shining it was still cold but as we all know as long as the rain stays away we are happy! Check in wasn’t until three so we headed into Killarney town for a look around (and some shopping) there is always a buzz around Killarney and even though it was early Friday morning there was lots of people around.

The Hotel:

When we arrived at the hotel the staff could not have been more friendly it was great it really shows a lot when the staff go above and beyond for you the minute you walk in the door. Our suitcases were taken from us, we were giving hot towels to wipe our hands and we were filled with lots of information about the hotel, renting bikes and where to visit during our stay.

We were then brought to our room and were given a little tour. We were lucky enough to be only a few doors away from the entrance to the Spa which was so handy. The room was stunning the decor was fab and on arrival we had a bottle of wine and chocolate and the hotel also left a plate with chocolates and a Happy Birthday message these little touches really make a huge difference I love them!

Included in our stay was use of the Thermal Suite in the Spa so we decided to head down. The robes and slippers were in our room so we just had to walk a few seconds to enjoy the spa. The Thermal Suite was amazing it had everything two jacuzzis, steam room, sauna, tropical shower, two relaxing areas, pool and even an outdoor hot tub. We stayed in here for a few hours and it was just so relaxing we didn’t want to leave.

For dinner there was a choice of two restaurants in the hotel The Yew Tree and the Monks Lounge. The Yew Tree was the fancier option but there actually wasn’t much that I liked on this menu as I am really picky with my food so we headed to the Monks Lounge and both got the steak which was delicious. You can read all about the restaurants here

Breakfast was included in our stay and it was amazing. There was a wide range of food available and the presentation was gorgeous.

Our stay in the hotel was amazing I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a night away with access to the Spa it had everything we wanted here so we were happy we didn’t have to leaeve the hotel for food etc.

Things to do:

About a 2 minute drive from the hotel is Muckross House and Gardens this place is so amazing any time I have visited here I was lucky with the weather and the views are just stunning. You can get a horse and carriage around the grounds, the lake and up to the Torc Waterfall. Another few minutes down the road is the Torc Waterfall I have been here so many times already we didn’t go there this time as I was dying to get back to the Spa.

In town there are plenty of shops to visit one place that I would always recommend is Murphys Ice-cream shop which is on the main street. This ice-cream is amazing!

Hopefully I covered everything
