So I’m sure most of you have heard of Sam McCauley chemist it is known for its great range of beauty products and its online shop but did you all know that they also have their own Beauty Salons too? I just recently found out that some Sam McCauley chemists have beauty salons in them (yes I am a disaster haha). You can see which stores have Beauty Salons here. I was contacted by Sam McCauleys to pop in and try out the waxing in their Douglas salon. With my schedule in work forever changing I finally got around to going for a patch test.
The lady that my appointment was with was Maggie. Maggie was so friendly and chatted away to me she explained all about the different type of wax that they use in the salon. There was the normal hot wax and the Lycon wax. I was patch tested for both. I’m used to getting the normal hot wax with the strip removal so this was nothing new to me but the Lycon wax looked and smelled amazing I think there was a vanilla and a lavender scented wax. The colour of these were pink and purple. You spread this across the hair and its peels off it was brilliant.
After my patch test I had to wait 24-48 hours to see if I had a reaction. Luckily I did not have any reaction to the wax. Next I wanted to book in to get my eyebrows waxed. I hate tweezing always have so I never tweeze my eyebrows at home I just always get them waxed which does mean they get a bit out of shape but I just can’t do them myself ha. I did book an appointment but had to cancel because of my shifts in work so one day I went online to get the number to book in again and I saw you could book an appointment online. This was perfect as I was in work. You simply log in chose your treatments and you can also select a particular person to book in with. I booked in for Eyebrow Trim and Eyebrow Tint you select a date and time that suits you and you pay a deposit. I think I had to pay like 60 cent which is great.
So last week I went in and finally got my eyebrows done. I got them done by the very friendly Maggie and I am delighted with them. Both the trim and tint cost €15.00 which is very reasonable as I have paid a lot more for this before. I tried to take some before and after photos they are not that great but I have included them below. You can visit the and book an appointment on Sam McCauleys website here.
